Planning your Wedding Invitations

Getting ready for that special day which is going to be your wedding day, is going to require a lot of planning, and you will have many tasks to accomplish, many of which are time sensitive. One of these is going to be your wedding invitations. You will want to get these out in plenty of time so your guests are given enough notice.

Before you can even do this, there are a few other tasks that you will need to complete first. These include:

  • The date of your wedding
  • the time and place

These are two important aspects because you will need to include this information on your invitations. Don’t just assume these. You need to make sure that the place where your ceremony is going to be held with be available at the time you want, so you will need to reserve this. Then for the reception, you will need to do the same thing.

Something else you may want to consider is the theme of your wedding. You will want your invitations to depict this in the same style and format. Plus, if your theme is casual, you may want to indicate this on your invitations too, so that guests know how to dress.

The rule of thumb is that you should mail out your invitations between four to eight weeks prior to the big day. You will want plenty of time to get the RSVPs back so you can let your reception hall know how many meals will be required.

Now it comes down to actually choosing your invitations and the company you are going to use to prepare them. An alternative is to make them yourself, but this can still be expensive and time-consuming. However, if you are going to have a small wedding then the DIY may be the better choice.
